Every year on the 15th of August, the Murau Samson, a giant figure about 5 meters high and 75 kilos in weight, makes his grand entrance at the Samson parade in the old town of murau. The Samson figure is festively carried through the town by strong men accompanied by the Murau Civic Guard with loud gun salutes and dances to the music of the Murau Town Band.
