The show mine in Oberzeiring offers visitors the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of historic mining. During a guided tour lasting about 75 minutes, you have the chance to explore the extensive tunnel network of Oberzeiring.
The guided tour takes you through tunnels where mining was once done manually. In the 13th century, Zeiring was one of the most important silver mining locations in Europe.
The tour through the show mine promises a fascinating experience. During high outdoor temperatures, the mine provides a welcome cooling. In some places, you will have to navigate through narrow crawling passages, but don't worry, you will receive a protective helmet. The tour offers an informative and adventurous experience that brings you closer to the fascinating world of historic mining.
In modern times, people venture into the interior of the mountain, where they use the clean and allergen-free atmosphere to find relief for their respiratory issues. However, it is important to mention that the show mine is not barrier-free and is accessible for children from 4 years old.

If someone has known nyctophobia (fear of the dark) or claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces), the conditions for a visit to the show mine may not be suitable.
At temperatures in the tunnel of around 8 degrees Celsius year-round, a light jacket is recommended.
