An atmospheric Advent walk through Rein Abbey under the motto ‘Follow the shepherds’.
Contemplative moments and traditional pre-Christmas customs are the stops on our tour around the Cistercian monastery: from the lighting of the first Advent candle, to Barbara, St Nicholas and the dark journeymen, from the Conception of Mary, Christmas Eve to the Raunächte.
With readings, music, mulled wine and Kletzenbrot.
The highlight: guided tour of the baroque garden and courtyard of the Old Convent, Dr Theuerkauf on the topic of ‘Follow the shepherds’ from a historical perspective, Father Martin on the topic of following the shepherds from a religious perspective, concluding in the darkened church with organ and Christmas carols
