Follow in the footsteps of Archduke Johann and his wife Anna Plochl. This gourmet journey takes you along the Archduke Johann Path through a place rich in history, tradition, and impressive sites.
Enjoy a delicious Archduke coffee with pastry at Café Hubmann and
then stroll over the Jakob-Rosolenz Staircase to Stainz Castle.
At Stainz Castle, you will experience impressive exhibitions on the themes of Archduke Johann, hunting, and agriculture, as well as the tour "Limonisoß á la Anna Plochl" ‒ where enjoyment meets culture in Stainz. To prepare for the subsequent three-course menu at Stainzerhof, you will be treated to the aperitif "Archduke Johann's Sparkling Pearl" at Stainz Castle Café. Then, through the Klosterhöhe, you will make your way down to Stainzerhof, where you can enjoy a delightful culinary evening.

Café Hubmann serves a delicious crumbled Linzer torte with freshly roasted Stainz coffee or "Archduke's Chocolate".

“Limonisoß á la Anna Plochl” ‒ enjoyment meets culture in Stainz.
In the Archduke Johann Museum, you will also encounter the Styrian prince from his private side! When Johann first met Anna Plochl, the postmaster's daughter from Aussee, at Lake Toplitz in August 1819, he saw her as the realization of his ideal woman. Archduke Johann places great value on frugality and simplicity and desires a "housewife". “You Habsburgs may be able to govern – but we Plochls can cook better,”
is what Anna Plochl is said to have once said, and during this tour, you will also gain interesting insights into the noble household.

Aperitif: “Archduke Johann's Sparkling Pearl”
The perfect introduction to a classic menu that Archduke Johann would likely have enjoyed: Offered in Schilcher and white variations, “Archduke Johann's Sparkling Pearl” awakens the taste buds and heightens the anticipation for the feast!

The Stainzerhof pampers your palate with the three-course menu
“From Johann & Anna's Kitchen”:
Spring herb soup ‒ fresh and fragrant, a greeting from the herb garden.
Hearty marinated Archduke Johann roast, accompanied by mashed potatoes and root vegetables.
Creamy ice cream, with vanilla and sponge cake ‒ as a sweet finish.
Upon request, there is also a vegetarian variation depending on the season.
Three-course menu excluding drinks or wine pairing.
