Panoramic Tour – around the Schöckl

Mountain experiences and fantastic views stretching far across Styria, along with the calming and revitalizing presence of water, define this pleasure tour around St. Radegund and the Schöckl. Culinary delights await in traditional inns along the route, while historic spring trails and the Kalvarienberg offer cultural highlights.

The panoramic cycle route is marked with green signs throughout – and it truly lives up to its name, offering spectacular views in all directions. To fully enjoy this mountain experience, you should be in good physical condition or use an e-bike, as the route is quite demanding. With climbs totaling up to 800 meters in elevation gain, you'll definitely be challenged.

One of the highlights is Graz’s local mountain, the Schöckl. At 1,445 meters, it serves as a classic viewpoint for the entire region. You can cycle up to the top, or, for a more relaxed experience, take the cable car.

The Schöckl circuit can also be started conveniently from Graz, with a short but steep ascent to Kalkleiten. Even from there, the views are breathtaking – stretching over the city of Graz and all the way to the Gleinalm, Slovenia, and Hungary. The route mostly follows low-traffic roads, steadily gaining altitude.

Several traditional inns along the route and in St. Radegund invite you to take delicious breaks. If you’re looking to do something good for body and mind, you’ll find plenty of relaxation along the nearby spring trails with Kneipp hydrotherapy stations and forest showers, or at the Kalvarienberg.
